| Middle Rasen witnessed another large turnout for the Poacher Trophy where Brian Slater's courses tested everyone. The open areas provided both control sites and route choices. Returning after a lay off, Steve Bones (LOG) took maximum points on the short though Pete Harris continued to extend his lead in the league. Early starter Dave Offler had a great run on the Long only to be picked off by late starters Neil Harvatt (one second faster!) and winner Max Guscott. Swedish visiting W21 Susanna Lyne, north-banker John Butler and the Isle of Axholme's Mike Smith all have their best performances of the series so far. Commiserations to chairman John Fulwood who yet again tore a calf muscle in a Poacher event. New people wishing to organise an event in 2003 please contact Pete Kullich. |
