The fifth event of the 2002 Poacher Trophy was yet again blessed with a dry sunny evening.Planner Harry Milton moved the scale to 1:7500 with the long course competitors having a map exchange in the spectator area.Max Guscott brushed aside the opposition with an emphatic win.Behind him Dave Offler showed that he does not intend to relinquish his Masters title without a fight with a sterling second place and Andrew Houlden had his best ever run in the Poacher with fourth.Meggie Rob Gordon may yet prove a threat to Pete Harris on the short as he gained maximum points. The ladies excelled at Laughton with Erica Pilkinton the 2000 Ladies Champion in second and Sue Chaney and Alison Clayton(plus 1) all posting their best performances. A special mention to planner Harry Milton who put on two excellent courses. After planning an event in every year of the Poacher's history Harry is taking a back seat to make way for some younger organisers.A big thankyou!
