| Pillar Wood lived up to its reputation as Halo's most pleasantly runnable area, well utillised by planner Brian Ward with the straight line route nearly always the best choice.Times per killometre were the fastest yet despite some climb. Competition was cut throat on both courses; Dean Field had a mere 10sec advantage over Max Guscott on the long, and Ben Offler was just 37sec ahead of Lee Smith on the short. Paddy Neligan had a great run on the long with his 7th place and could challenge Brian Slater and Mike Smith amongst others for the Super Vets trophy (55+). Next week at Primrose Warren we revert to master maps for a change so bring a red pen - map cases will be available. |
