A surprisingly low turnout for Willingham sampled the courses put on by local (Tealby) planner Pete Harris. Ben Offler maintained his consistency with another win on the short course to clinch the league title. Another junior to score big points was Eleanor Humphrey in fourth place. East Barkworth's Mel Clarke broke into the top six to consolidate his league position. Long course competitor were treated to the 'delight' of a Norwegian type course with no map - needless to say a large proportion found the going to tough, but not John Bennett who recorded his second ever Poacher maximum with a popular win. Brian Slater in third has now opened up a significant lead in the super-vets category with two events remaining. Next week at Laughton competitors revert to the normal pre-marked format; with Neil Harvatt planning and several notable high scorers absent on holiday plenty of points are available - to finishers!
