The 2004 Poacher Series ended on a damp night. However, good planning from Mal Humphrey and a surprisingly runnable wood for this time of the year made it an enjoyable night, especially afterwards at the Queen's Head trophy presentation. Most categories had already been decided but competition was still intense. Short course champion Andy Furnell ended the season on a high note by gaining maximum points. LOG compatriot Mel Clark moved into the runners up position in the table with a strong third place. On the long course, visitor Dil Wetherill beat champion Dean Field and runner-up Paul Beresford with Masters Champion Neil Harvatt in 4th place. The Super Vets title went to Pete Kullich who completed his 7th scoring event. This year's series has attracted record numbers of competitors averaging well over 40 entrants per event. Next year the series commences on Wed 13th April. The fixture list will be finalised sometime this coming winter.
