Debutant Poacher planner Steve Bones produced two excellent courses fully utilising the many runnable parts of the wood. 2004 Long Course Champion Dean Field recorded his first win in this series 3 minutes clear of Finningley's Neil Harvatt with Mike Smith , in great form, third- his highest ever Poacher placing. A mere 14 seconds separated the next four runners. A rogue control sitting in a ditch since 8 May 2002 distracted some- with an unfortunate result for one. There was a 2 minute win on the short for Grimsby's Lee Smith over Ultra Vet John Butler. Hull's Peter Robinson in fourth was his best for some time. Also excelling was British M10 Champion Zac Field in fifth just under a minute ahead of rival Junior Eleanor Humphrey.
