Starting from the centre of the forest planner John Fulwood produced two challenging courses with Hamilton Hill providing the most runnable terrain. Elsewhere the bracken etc. was quite high looking like elephant grass for the juniors on the Short Course which was won by vet John Butler just returned from a 'working' holiday in Canada. There was yet again another maximum for Neil Harvatt on the Long Course where 'machete man' John Bennett excelled in second place finding a great route into the last tricky control. Caistor's Michael Robinson in fourth had his best Poacher run to date. Results for Amber Harris and Gary Robinson on the Short and Sean Harrington on the long are provisional until their control cards are submitted for scrutiny. Next week Normanby Park beckons - although a small area, it always provides a navigational challange.
