Log Secretary Liam Harrington had a highly successful debut as a Poacher planner utilising the runnable parts of Willingham and finding plenty of new control sites. Being Forest Enterprise the wood is rough in parts so Liam wisely gave the long course plenty of controls on Hamilton Hill, the best part of the wood despite the relatively recent appearance of a BMX circuit. Unfortunately the hill is too far away for the Short course so they had only 1 control on the edge of the runnable area. 2006 Poacher Champion Neil Harvatt returned to winning ways with maximum points on the Long course. Also scoring useful points was Supervet titleholder Paddy Neligan just behind Tealby's Pete Harris who always excels here. Nearly breaking into the top ten was new Supervet Phil Longstaff, a resident of Willingham, not the wood but the one near Stow. On the short course a span of 50 years+ was separated by a mere 20 seconds as Zac Field maintained his 100% record. Mother Roseanne looks favourite to retain her Ladies title though she might be challenged by Lincoln's Kaele Pilcher or the improving Dorothy Smith. Kite Retrieval appears to be working well as is the SI punching though at the moment it is requiring 3-4 willing volunteers for it to function- the advantages are , however, great including Route Gadget- please use it!
