Report | Firstly many thanks to Pete for sorting the results after our battery malfunction. Normal service will be resumed next week. I hope you enjoyed the courses at this wrongly much maligned woodland. Just like many HALO members it is improving with age as new sections are opened up. It is always going to be relatively physical but there are a multitude of features and even new ones can miraculously appear like the vehicle pit in the middle of nowhere. There are still areas to be avoided, just ask Marcus. On the Short it was a battle of the dodgy knees with Isoldt’s recovery after 2 years beating off Mary’s challenge of recovering after only 6 months. Also good run from Georgia who fresh from navigating the sights on the Vegas Strip, was able to navigate the Osgoodby sights. On the Medium, Helena, also recovering from a skiing knee injury after 3 months was able to hold off the challenge of Chris and his knobbly knees. Good runs from juniors Elspeth and Hannah. Good to see Pete K again after recovering from a broken hip last year after a cycling accident. On the Medium, Liam was back to winning ways. I am quite confident in saying that Liam has won more Poacher Events than anyone, if anyone wants to check the records they are more than welcome. Good run from another junior, Ben, who now seems to beat his dad every week. Note if any Juniors want some extra coaching LOG are holding some training sessions in the next few weeks. See their website for details. Next week we return to Twigmoor- parking in usual area but please look out for the foresters who are carrying out operations up to 5.30pm and there are log stacks on the approach and in the parking area. Lastly, many thanks to kite collectors Andrew R, Alex, Chris, David and Elspeth- much appreciated. |
