19/04/2017 (HALO) Poacher 2 Mausoleum Woods

Start time18:00
Description     3 Courses Short 2k, Medium 3.5k,Long 5k
Yarborough Estate.
Limited parking for officials and families N side of A18 in Ramblers Parking Area, remainder in village. Take care crossing road into Competition Area.
The woods are in great condition with runnability mostly very fast. However, the nettles, whilst still just calf length are nice and healthy! Leg cover is required. To make up for this the bluebells are just bursting into bloom. There is an area that has been recently felled and replanted - this area has been marked Out of Bounds as it needs remapping and to protect the saplings.

ReportAnother good turn out, making the most of the dry conditions - last year Poacher 2 was when we were running in the blizzards at Normanby -le -Wold.
It was a good evening for the younger generation with the top 7 on the Long being M40 or below and on the Medium 7 out of the top 9 being M/W 21 or below - with some of the oldies obviously struggling with the climb!
Thanks to Paul who was able to continuously twist and turn competitors so that they had to continuously orientate and navigate across the numerous rides.
On the Long, Liam took his second Series victory from debutant Joe, Sam and Lee had excellent runs but Paul fresh from his JK podium Sprint success was unable to maintain the same concentration and inadvertently mp. Yasmin seems to be back to her best and could well be in contention to take Helena's crown, if she is able to maintain the same concentration during the exam season.
On the Medium, Holly was able to convert her Urban form to the forest just beating Megan who was fresh from her honeymoon, with Chris showing his consistency with 3rd.
On the Short, Imogen took the honours from last year's Champion Hannah.
Thanks to Mary V, Phil, Harriet, Megan & Oli for kite collecting. Next week we are heading 5kms South West to Hendale.
