ReportThanks to Andrew for producing another fast and furious evening's entertainment. The times were even quicker than last week as everyone reaches their peak fitness levels after 10 weeks of competition. Note next week it might be even faster with the introduction of a 0.5km course - see website for further details later as the minimum distance will also change to incorporate the new length.
On the Short, Hannah was pipped by Imogen but retains her title with the ever present Harry third.
On the Medium on the night it could not have been any closer between Holly and Jonathan, with the former remaining unbeaten all season by a fraction (2/10 of a second). Both however take Poacher 20 titles, with the latter the Junior title. Note, their times were such they would have been fourt and fifth on the Long course. The final Medium title goes to Megan, although being beaten on the night by her other half for the first time, her consistent performances have been rewarded accordingly.
On the Long, despite Liam's fifth victory he will be sweating on the beach in Cephalonia next week, as Joe can win the title (on countback)if he takes his sixth victory. I am sure LOG clubmate Paul will try to help but he will also be sweating on retaining the Masters title if he mis punches with LOG clubmate John waiting in the wings. Yasmin could afford a well earned rest last night after clinching the Women's title from Helena, Kate and the ever present Harriet. Neil (again) and Pete (again)are also confirmed as Veterans and Ultra Veterans Champions which are well deserved considering all the hard work put in on and off the field.
Thanks to the LOG members who did the kite collecting.
Next week's final event is at the newly mapped grounds of Healing Manor which will be followed by the Presentations, inside or outside the on site Pig and Whistle where food and drink will be available (not on the house!).
The following night the Lincs Urban League kicks off in Lincoln (E)so your fitness levels can be tested and also the following Weds(28th) in Market Rasen.
